Ladies of the CCO Pantry

My Friends Make it all Work

Here’s a few of our Food Pantry Volunteers for August 9, 2017. We have Sara from Most Valuable Personal Staffing Agency. We have Celeste form Uptown. We have Granny from Uptown. We have Roxanne (trying to hide) from Canada. And we have me—-attempting to keep everyone smiling! (Not a bad job with a crew like this.) We served about 70-80 folks. We were blessed to offer them breads, canned goods, fruits and vegetables, and at least 2 meats–(chicken, beef, ground beef, sausage, and pork.) The Greater Chicago Food Depository has been an outstanding partner and our primary supplier of food. And did you know that we really have fun time serving so many low-income and elderly clients.

About the Author:

Chris Ramsey has been a member of the Jesus People U.S.A. community in Chicago since 1975. Throughout those 40 years, Ramsey has been involved in evangelism, writing, interviewing, and serving the poor. He’s also a kind of “crazy” character who’s constantly asking himself, “Where do I fit in”? For the past 25 years, Chris has discovered that his role in serving the homeless and the poor at Cornerstone Community Outreach (CCO), seems to fit him quite nicely. He is happily married to Sandy Ramsey, the executive director of CCO, and has two adult sons, Christopher and Jonathan.
